Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills/informed Only
DBT skills only is not for clients who need comprehensive DBT (persons experiencing severe mental health issues, suicidal, or self-harming). DBT skills only does not include all the components of comprehensive DBT (individual, group skills, phone coaching, team meetings) therefore not used to reduce suicidal behavior, psychiatric hospitalizations, or self harm.
DBT skills only works for those clients who need to learn and implement evidence-based skills to become more self aware, gain social awareness, improve decision making, gain self management and relationship skills. The DBT skills include: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, validation and dialectical thinking.
School-Related Support
Counseling focuses on school refusal, ADHD, learning disabilities, school year transitions (freshmen fears, junior stress, senior pressure, senioritis, college worries), autonomy/independence, academic struggles, stress management, social skills, social-emotional learning, and peer relationships.
Family Counseling
Counseling designed to assist families in making changes and maintaining overall wellbeing (ie; divorce, child of alcoholics/substance users, parenting challenges).
Stress Management
Counseling designed to teach about the different types of stress, how you experience stress, and ways to manage stress.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
This is an evidence-based therapy that concentrates on challenging and changing negative thinking, behaviors, and feelings. CBT is used to counter anxiety and or depression.
Mindfulness
This approach is used to manage and reduce stress by helping clients to become present-orientated and cultivate a non-judgmental attitude.
Health & Wellness Coaching
Coaching strategies that help the client build healthy habits that align with how he/she/they want to feel everyday. Coaching that provides clients with knowledge, skills, tools and confidence to engage in their own care and well-being.
