We realize it may feel strange to return to school, especially for students who have been remote for a year and a half.
Try focusing on things you can control like:
- Staying socially connected with peers and family members
- Following a daily routine and schedule
- Being physically active
- Pacing yourself and taking time to relax
- Trying new activities or re-establishing interest in old ones
Allow yourself to feel emotions even if they are unwanted ones like fear, frustration, loneliness, anger, etc. Emotions can be helpful and lead us to finding solutions. Of course, if your emotions are too intense and you are struggling to regulate them on your own, please ask for help. There is nothing wrong with talking to someone—we all need help sometimes. You’re not alone.
